Welcome to 2026 and the new cat show year. Governing Council hopes that you have all had a wonderful new year and are ready for a great year of cat fun!

2026 MEMBERSHIP
Membership renewal is now due - payable by 28th February
NEW Applying to all members of GCCFSA from 1 January 2026, updating of contacts details and acknowledging the obligations of members is a requirement by completing and signing the membership form annually.
NEW Applying from 1 January 2026, an administration fee will apply to all types of membership. There is no increase to the cost of membership, as passed in Jan 2025.
Memberships for 2026 are due by 28 February.
- To be eligible for Title Upgrades, Golden Awards and End of Year Points, members must be financial before the show year begins on 8 March 2026.
- You must be a financial member to be a Registered Breeder.
- Junior Exhibitors must be financial members to be eligible to enter the junior exhibitor class at shows.
- Memberships unpaid by 28 February may be refused renewal.
LIFE members
- no fee for renewal
- $10.00 annual administration fee
- completed membership form required.
ANNUAL members (membership from 2015)
- $10.00 annual renewal fee
- $10.00 annual administration fee
- completed membership form required.
JUNIOR members (up to 18 years of age)
- $5.00 annual renewal fee
- $10.00 annual administration fee
- completed membership form required.
NOTICE TO ALL BREEDERS
Breeder & Prefix Registration (Option 1)
NEW As from 1 January 2026, Breeder & Prefix Registration for GCCFSA Breeders is required to be renewed annually for the fee of $10.00.
NEW Applying to all Breeders registered with GCCFSA, updating of contact details and acknowledging the obligations of breeders is a requirement by completing and signing the Breeder & Prefix Registration form annually.
Renewal is due by 28 February.
The Breeder Registration will include:
- $10.00 annual renewal fee
- Includes cattery listing on the GCCFSA website and promotional materials
- Breeders will promote themselves as 'GCCFSA Breeder' in all forums and promotional materials, including DACO
- Breeders must adhere to the Code of Ethics
- Prefix must be registered with GCCFSA
- Litters must be registered with GCCFSA
- Individual cats and kittens must be registered with GCCFSA in a timely manner
- Cats for showing must be registered with GCCFSA to be eligible for Title Upgrades, Golden Awards and End of Year points.
- The penalty for failing to comply is de-listing.
NEW Associate Breeder Registration (Option 2)
An alternative for dual-registered Breeders (i.e. registered with Governing Council and FASA) has been proposed, with an annual fee of $100. Dual-registered breeders will be able to choose their registration type.
The Associate Breeder Registration will include:
- $100.00 annual renewal fee
- Annual breeder registration with increased annual fee for active breeders
- Includes cattery listing on the GCCFSA website and promotional materials
- Breeders will promote themselves as 'GCCFSA Associate Breeder' in all forums and promotional materials, including DACO
- Breeders must adhere to the Code of Ethics
- Prefix must be registered with GCCFSA
- Breeders are NOT required to register litters and individual cats and kittens with GCCFSA providing they are registered with FASA. Spot checks with FASA to occur.
- Cats for showing must be registered with GCCFSA to be eligible for Title Upgrades, Golden Awards and End of Year points.
- The penalty for failing to comply is de-listing.

2026 ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING
All members, please be advised that the Annual General Meeting of Governing Council will be held:
- On: Tuesday 27 January 2026 @ 7.30pm
- At: NCWSA House, 95 South Tce, Adelaide
- Delegates must be financial to be eligible to vote
- Clubs must be financial to be eligible to vote
- Nominations for all 2026 position will close at 5pm on Monday 12 January
- Observers are welcome
2026 CAT SHOW CALENDAR
The 2026 Calendar is available on the GCCFSA website at https://www.catfancysa.asn.au/shows.php and schedules will be available for download as entries open for each show. A printable version of the calendar is also available.
Exhibitors should take note of the HOT WEATHER POLICY for GCCFSA
- If a show venue is not air-conditioned and the BOM weather forecast (at 6.00pm Thursday) for show day is 32 degrees or over, the show will be cancelled.
- If the venue is air-conditioned then the temperature on show day is irrelevant and the choice to attend resides with the exhibitor.
- Hot weather cancellation refund: If a show is cancelled due to heat, the host club will decide if a refund will be made to exhibitors.
Exhibitors are asked to take note of the following when shows resume in March:
- Exhibitors must always observe the Code of Ethics
- Please do not wash cats in the bathroom sinks and leave hair to clog the drain
- Please do not flush litter in the toilets
- Please put ALL rubbish in the bin
- Do not leave rubbish or litter in the car parks
- Smoking and vaping is not allowed on school grounds
- Unsportsmanlike behaviour will not be tolerated from anyone.
